Nelson Gord Named New Head Baseball Coach at Harper College

Locally, I am excited to see students from our district choosing to play baseball at Harper College, and I believe that Nelson Gord will drive our program forward and build a winning tradition that will bring national recognition to our team. With his impressive background in professional baseball organizations and coaching experience at Oakton and Harper Community College, I have no doubt that the baseball program will be run with the highest standards.

Nelson attended Buffalo Grove High School where he played varsity baseball before moving on to University of Illinois at Chicago. His passion for the game is evident, and his main objective is to provide local student athletes, coaches, and families with a high-quality experience that Harper College offers.

I genuinely want student athletes to be a part of the abundance of positives Harper College will provide for them. With Nelson's extensive experience as Head Baseball Coach at Notre Dame College Prep from 2011-2017, founder and President of the Illinois Travel Baseball Club, educational speaker, and recruiting expert, I am confident that he will bring his expertise to our team.

As Director of Baseball for Next College Student Athlete (NCSA), Nelson is committed to mentoring student athletes and preparing them not only for the challenges they will face on the field but also in life. His focus is on the development of individual student athletes, which aligns perfectly with Harper College's values.

I am thrilled to announce that Nelson Gord has been named our new Head Baseball Coach after a national search. Doug Spiwak, Harper College's Athletic Director, made this announcement, and I couldn't be more excited for what the future holds for our baseball program under Nelson's leadership.
